Know What's Due, Log It, Prove It
Three surfaces, one job: the fleet ranked by urgency, a form built for the field, and a binder that is always current
Fleet board
Every generator, ranked by what's due next
- ✓Statuses come from the real cadence engine, live on this page. Log a test and watch the board re-rank
- ✓Worst first: No Record and Overdue float to the top, so the next truck roll plans itself
- ✓Weekly and monthly windows tracked per generator, grace periods included

Not a Reminder App. A Cadence Engine.
Status is computed from your records against fixed test windows and grace periods, the same arithmetic running the demo fleet on this page
1. The clock starts at your last test
Every cadence counts forward from the most recent record of that type. Log a monthly load test and that generator's 30-day window restarts the same second.
2. Due and Overdue, by the numbers
Pass the window and the cadence reads Due. Pass the grace period and it reads Overdue. A generator with no history reads No Record. No judgment calls, no sticky notes.
3. The fleet ranks itself
Generators sort worst-first: No Record, then Overdue, then Due, then Current. The dashboard is a work queue, and the top row is your next stop.
4. Proof accumulates
Every log becomes a permanent row in the facility's history: readings, technician, corrective actions. Export the whole binder the moment anyone asks.
| Test | Window | Grace | Fleet status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weekly Inspection | Every 7 days | +3 days | Drives status |
| Monthly Load Test | Every 30 days | +10 days | Drives status |
| Annual Load Bank | Every 365 days | +30 days | History kept |
| Fuel Quality Test | Every 365 days | +30 days | History kept |
| Transfer Switch Test | Every 30 days | +10 days | History kept |
Fleet status is driven by the weekly and monthly cadences every generator must satisfy; the other test types keep their own dated history in the binder.
Failure trail
A Failed Test Is Not a Liability. An Undocumented One Is.
Nobody expects a fleet that never fails. Reviewers expect the failure, the fix, and the retest, in writing. Genspector makes that paper trail automatic.
- ✓Pass, Fail, or Conditional: the result is part of the record, not a memory
- ✓Corrective actions are captured on the failing record itself
- ✓Retests file alongside the failure, so the story reads start to finish

Questions Contractors Ask
Does Genspector cover NFPA 110 testing schedules?
The cadence engine ships the test rhythms of NFPA 110 chapter 8: weekly inspections on a 7-day window, monthly load tests and transfer-switch tests on 30 days, annual load banks and fuel quality tests on 365, each with its own grace period. Genspector keeps your records organized against those windows; what satisfies a given AHJ or surveyor is always their call, so the goal is simple: hand over a complete record the moment they ask.
Will the export satisfy my client's surveyor?
Genspector produces the document surveys and AHJ visits ask for: the facility's complete test history, grouped per generator, newest first, with technician attribution and corrective actions. No software can promise what an individual surveyor accepts, and we do not certify outcomes. What Genspector removes is the scramble: the binder is complete, ordered, and exportable in one click.
My clients are hospitals and nursing homes. Is Genspector built for that?
That is exactly the job. Hospitals, surgery centers, and nursing homes get surveyed by the Joint Commission, CMS, and state agencies, and emergency-power test records are a standard document request. Genspector keeps every generator's NFPA 110 history organized per facility, so the record your client hands the surveyor is complete, current, and ready the day they ask.
How fast can a tech log a test in the field?
The form is built for a phone in a mechanical room: pick the test type, tap Pass, Fail, or Conditional, key the readings you took, save. A weekly inspection takes under a minute. Try it on the demo fleet above.
What happens when a test fails?
Fail and Conditional results carry a corrective-action field on the same record, so what went wrong and what you did about it live together. When you log the retest, it files next to the failure, which is exactly the follow-up trail inspectors look for first.
What exactly is in the binder export?
A CSV with 20 columns per test: facility and generator identity down to the serial number, test date and type, result, runtime and load percentage, six gauge readings from oil pressure to transfer time, technician, notes, and corrective action. Rows are grouped per generator, newest first. Download a sample from the binder demo above.
How many clients can I manage?
Up to 25 client facilities, 50 generators per facility, and 2,000 test records per generator, which is decades of weekly inspections. One subscription covers your whole book of business.
What does Genspector cost?
One plan: $99/month or $990/year (save $198, 2 months free). That covers your whole book of business: every facility, every generator, every binder export. The 14-day trial is free, no card required.
What happens when the free trial ends?
The trial is 14 days with full access and no card required. When it ends, editing pauses but every facility, generator, and test record is kept. Subscribe and you pick up exactly where you left off.
Never Scramble Before a Survey Again.
